Nike of the Forest
Jason Tennant’s Nike Of The Forest series is an interpretation of nature as a series of allegories. These works draw from a range sources including human and animal gesture, iconography, and symbols.
The theme of these works centers on the ephemeral experiences that one is exposed to when immersed in nature, the resiliency of nature to human impact, and the concept of stewardship as opposed to damaging exploitation of land.
Tennant has been sculpting and painting since he was a boy. He has an MFA from S.U.N.Y at Buffalo. He has taught art at secondary and post-secondary levels, and his work is in various public and international private collections
