Ingrid Narken

Ingrid Narken is a native of the Hudson Valley and became a full-time resident of Old Forge in 2021.  She received a B.S. degree in music theory and composition from SUNY New Paltz and a M.S. degree in music education from Western Connecticut State University. Ingrid retired from teaching vocal music for the Washingtonville Central School District in Orange County New York.  In addition to teaching, Ingrid has performed with many area choral groups, including the Newburgh Symphonic Chorale, and has performed with the Opera Company of the Highlands productions of “Cavalleria Rusticana,” “I Pagliacci” and “Madame Butterfly” as chorus member. She directed the Newburgh Symphonic Chorale from 2009 to 2012.  Since moving to Old Forge, Ingrid has become the musical director for the Old Forge Community Chorus and a member of the Adirondack Community Chorus.  She is an inaugural member of View’s Black Bear Players Committee.  Ingrid is involved in many activities beyond music, becoming the 2023 NYS Golf Association Women’s Senior Amateur Champion representing Thendara Golf Course.
