Sam Crocker

Immediate Past Co-Chair

Sam Crocker has been coming to Old Forge for about 65 years. Since retiring ten years ago, he has spent July and August in Old Forge. His involvement in local/regional organizations has primarily been through financial contributions to View, Town of Webb Historical Association, Old Forge Library, Kinderwood, Community Foundation of Herkimer & Oneida Counties, Adirondack Museum, and The Wild Center. He and his wife, Ann, are members of Thendara Golf Club and support the Kids T Off program.

Sam’s business career was spent in banking beginning at Chemical Bank in 1964 (now JPMorgan Chase) followed by Citibank's Private Banking Division. After Citibank, he worked for 25 years at local community banks in Connecticut, including Union Savings Bank, where he spent the last seventeen years of his banking career as Senior Vice President in charge of commercial lending. His  non-profit involvement includes the following: President of the Board of Directors for the past 10 years of Family & Children's Aid, providing professional mental health care services to children and their families; Current Director of New Pond Farm Education Center, a year-round environmental education center with a small working farm component; Past Director and Board Chairman of the Regional YMCA of Western Connecticut for which he currently sits on the Board of Trustees; Past Director of the Ridgefield (Conn.) Visiting Nurses Association.
