Come and learn how to draw your pet's paw print in Charcoal Pencil! This class is open to people of all drawing skill levels. All you need to bring is a photo of your pet's paw (it can be a dog, cat or even a hoof!) as well as approximate dimensions if you are able to obtain them. If not, that is okay! All materials for this class will be included. Your photo can be on your phone or tablet.
Learn about value, drawing techniques, how to draw realistic fur and more with local Artist Ashley VanBeber. She will teach you, step by step, how to build your drawing up to a realistic portrait of your pet's paw. Paw print drawings are a great piece of art to have on display of your beloved pet!
The best way to take a photo of your pet's paw is to get it as square as possible. An example is pictured below. Try to not have the paw at any sort of angle. To measure the paw, take a measurement from the top of the paw pad to the bottom of the paw pad and likewise for the width of the paw. Take a photo of your pet's paw in bright daylight to get the best reference photo!
Ashley has been drawing and teaching art classes for several years. She specializes in drawing pets and wildlife in both charcoal and colored pencil. You can see Ashley's work and portfolio by visiting WayArtThere.com or you can follow her on social media at @WayArtThere.
