Overview

Join Janet Nye Vedder on an artistic journey through art and culture. Chinese Brush Painting is a beautiful and unique style of artwork.  Chinese Brush Painting is a dynamic spontaneous colorful style of painting.  In this class, we will have fun learning about and creating in this beautiful ancient style. Using only simple tools, ink, opaque watercolor paint, brush, and paper, you will learn to create captivating artwork filled with beauty and freedom. Chinese Brush Painting is related to Sumi-e Japanese Brush painting, using the same brush strokes; however, Chinese brush painting is spontaneous and colorful.  This is a virtual live Zoom class.  

Materials List:

Paper - mixed media paper and/or a large-ish sketchbook, and, optional: Unryu Paper (sold online: Blick Art Materials)

Ink - either sumi-e ink, India ink, or black watercolor should work

Brush - Sumi-e Japanese/Chinese brush or a pointed round watercolor brush

Small plate or small containers to mix the ink/paint

A few different colors of paint: watercolor or acrylic or gouache

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations made at least 10 days prior to the first day of a class can receive a 100% refund or can be exchanged for another class. Cancellations made less than 10 days prior to the first day of class will not be refunded.  In the event that View were to cancel a class, a full refund for the class will be issued.
