Ceramic Surface Decoration with Sodium Silicate
View all PotteryOverview
Explore crackling the surface of clay using sodium silicate in this fun workshop taught by two of View's Independent Potters, Julia Pilny and Kay Komisar. This technique can be used both for wheel thrown and hand built items. Julia and Kay will demo both options. Wheel throwers and hand builders will then be able to create their own pieces and watch them crackle in front of their eyes. View will fire and glaze completed pieces to be picked up at a later date. To create a wheel thrown piece, throwing experience is a must. Hand built pieces are beginner friendly. Cost of materials and firing is included in the cost of the workshop.
