Sumi-e and Chinese Brush Painting

Join us at View on an artistic journey through art and culture as we learn about the ancient art of Sumi-e and Chinese Brush Painting! This one-day workshop will be offered September 14, 2023 from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm. 

This workshop will be an exciting mix of learning and creating as we delve in the beautiful ancient art styles of Sumi-e and Chinese Brush Painting.  You will learn about the history and philosophy of this ancient art form that has continued to grow to this day.  Using only three simple tools, ink, brush and paper, you will learn to create captivating artwork using the beauty and freedom of the Sumi-e brush line  

The presenter, Janet Nye Vedder, has experience as a graphic artist, product illustrator, and art educator.

All materials will be supplied. Make sure you bring a sack lunch with you that day. There is limited space available, so make sure you register soon. Pre-registration is required.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations made at least 10 days prior to the first day of a class will receive a 100% refund, or can be exchanged for another class. Cancellations made less than 10 days prior to the first day of class can only be exchanged for another class.

In the event that View were to cancel a class, a full refund for the class will be issued.
