Overview

Join Janet Nye Vedder on an artistic journey through art and culture. Sumi-e Japanese Brush Painting is a beautiful and unique style of artwork.  In this class, we will have fun learning about and creating in this beautiful ancient style. Using only three simple tools, ink, brush, and paper, you will learn to create captivating artwork using the beauty and freedom of the Sumi-e brush line, and the values created by the ink.  In this class, we will learn and practice brushstrokes that will take us through all of ‘The Four Gentlemen”.  This is a virtual live Zoom class.  

Materials List:

Paper - for this Intro class mixed media paper and/or a large-ish sketchbook will be fine

Ink - either Sumi-e ink, India ink, or black watercolor should work

Brush - Sumi-e Japanese/Chinese brush or a pointed round watercolor brush

A small plate or small containers to mix the ink

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations made at least 10 days prior to the first day of a class can receive a 100% refund or can be exchanged for another class. Cancellations made less than 10 days prior to the first day of class will not be refunded.  In the event that View were to cancel a class, a full refund for the class will be issued.
