Karen Barnes: Landscapes, Portraits, & Still Lifes
View all ExhibitionsOverview
The Rosenau Gallery will be showcasing the art of Karen Barnes. For the past 8 years, she has been painting exclusively in watercolor, capturing the flavor and feel of the colorful places around the world that she has visited with her husband.
Originally from the area and now living in Rome, NY, Karen has been transitioning from a career in illustration to the world of fine art. Her work has been selected and honored with awards from many watercolor societies including the American Watercolor Society, The Transparent Watercolor Society of America, The National Watercolor Society, The Canadian Society of Watercolor Painters, The New England Watercolor Society, and the Women in Watercolor International Juried Competition.
Karen was selected to create a watercolor painting for the poster for the 2023 Adirondacks National Exhibition of American Watercolor exhibition. The original painting, The Kayaker, is currently on display in View's lobby and is available for purchase. Signed ANEAW posters are also available in the gift shop.
