Singing Our Way Home
View all PerformancesOverview
Singing Our Way Back Home features music from the Broadway, opera, classical crossover and pop genres. In a variety of vocal styles, Claire, Loraine and Michael attempt to answer three questions about the notion of Home: how we define it, why we leave it, and what draws us back to it! This concert is for everyone, and celebrates the people who are at the very heart of our individual ideas of home.
Meet Claire Haile...Claire Haile has been singing since before she could talk. She is an elementary music and choir teacher and is frequently involved in community theater productions in the Rome and Utica area. In her free time, she enjoys reading, hiking, and spending time with friends and family.
Meet Loraine O'Donnell...Loraine O'Donnell has made her living as a professional actor, singer and designer since graduating from the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in NYC. Working across the country in regional theaters from Arvada Colorado (The Arvada Center) to Buffalo NY (Studio Arena Theater) she also worked in television on the nationally syndicated movie show Off-Beat Cinema as well as the regional morning television talk show AM Buffalo. Before moving back to Boonville to "semi-retire" Loraine was the Artistic Director of the Kavinoky Theatre, a professional theatre in Buffalo. She is currently the Executive Director of the historic house museum Constable Hall in Constableville, NY.
Meet Michael Ferris...From an early age, Michael was drawn to the musical stage! With a BFA in Musical Theatre from SUNY Fredonia, he forged a performing career that took him around the world and back. He has recorded a CD of standards and performed his cabaret act at "Don't Tell Mama's" in NYC. In addition, Michael has been travelling seasonally to Italy for the last 25 years facilitating workshops in the arts. Back home, he continues to perform locally in musical revues, church choirs, and both the Adirondack and Old Forge Community Choruses. In his role as Performing Arts Manager, Michael is delighted to be a fosterer and presenter of the arts alongside his View family!
