Join New York Times Bestselling author, hiker, and historian Tim Rowland for a free author talk and book signing.  Well known for his engaging wit and humorous storytelling, Tim will share his story about the wild hiking disaster that launched his writing career. Come early to enjoy the final day of View’s collection of exhibitions themed around The Book as Art, and stay for an informal reception and to meet the author immediately following his talk.

Tim Rowland is an Adirondack outdoors writer who spent most of his 40-year journalism career writing a humor column for a Western Maryland daily newspaper. He’s written several history and hiking books, and his Strange and Obscure Stories of the Civil War was a New York Times Bestseller.  A lifelong adventurer, Rowland has ridden a bicycle across the United States, hiked the 46 Adirondack High Peaks and climbed in Alaska, Norway, the Dolomites and Himalayas. He and his wife Beth live on a hobby farm on the Ausable River in the Town of Jay.
